Oceania Power helped deliver Australia’s first IMO Tier III vessel in partnership with Volvo Penta and key industry collaborators. The project demonstrated that lower-emission technology can be integrated into a working commercial vessel without treating performance as an afterthought.
Volvo Penta’s SCR exhaust aftertreatment has a compact design that helps simplify installation while maintaining power and efficiency. When paired with HVO 100, it can also support CO₂ reductions of up to 90%.
For operators, the important point is straightforward: improving environmental performance does not have to mean compromising the vessel’s ability to do its job.
Reliable marine gensets and onboard power for commercial vessels
Lighting, communications, navigation equipment, onboard systems and emergency power all rely on a dependable electricity supply. Volvo Penta’s marine gensets and variable-speed gensets are built for demanding conditions and can support electrical generation, emergency power, diesel-electric propulsion and serial hybrid applications.
Available from 62kW to 508kW, the range can be configured for fixed- or variable-speed operation. This allows power output to be better matched to the vessel’s needs, to improve fuel efficiency while maintaining a reliable onboard supply.
